I know, it has been way too long since I have posted an update to the blog. Believe me, I've heard it from more than one of you! LOL

I have no trick or treating pictures to share other than one of Aiden in his costume during the week before trick-or-treating. I took the camera up to Wisconsin with me that weekend for a surprise 60th birthday party for my Uncle Denny. The funny thing is that his birthday is not until a few days after Christmas, however, who wants to go to the tundra of WI in the middle of winter! It was chilly the weekend we were up there, but it was loads of fun and I had a great time visiting with my sweet family that I hardly ever get to see!
The boys had a great time trick-or-treating with the Chismar and Makselan kiddos, which has become an annual tradition! Brady was a "dinosaur t-rex" and Aiden wore an actual football uniform for the Hillsdale Falcons! Helps that Scott is on the athletic staff at school and could get a uniform. He was over the moon that he got to wear a real jersey and helmet!
Recently I was going through some of Aiden's old clothes that are the next size up for Brady and I found one of Aiden's old halloween costumes, SPIDER MAN! Brady loves all things Super Heros so he snagged it right away and wanted to play in it one afternoon outside. Well, Aiden couldn't be out done, so he got his old halloween costume from last year (which was so funny because it was WAY too small now) and so the boys spent an afternoon playing outside in costume!
Aiden's soccer season is behind us until the spring and he is now playing basketball through Upward Basketball at church. It is a wonderful league that teaches kids the basics about basketball and includes devotionals each week as well. Both teams share a prayer together before their games and it is really nice. They do not keep score during the games until 3rd grade, which is probably a good thing as I don't think our team would come out winning if there were scores this year! Here is an action shot of Aiden shooting the ball during one of his games!
As the Holidays are very quickly approaching, I reflect on what a great year we have had. Hard to believe it has already been a year that we lost Dad - I miss him so badly and find myself all the time thinking that I need to tell him something or can't wait to tell him a funny thing the boys said or did that I know would make him laugh. The beauty of it is that I know he sees it all from his wonderful seat in Heaven and I cannot wait to be with him again one day.
I am so thankful for our jobs given the economy and how much this has affected some families and their jobs. Being in the business of helping people find work, it has been a tough year, but I have had consumers hired onto jobs this year and that is wonderful for them! Scott is in his 12th year in education and I am in my 6th year with RSC. As with most all people, we both love our jobs...at least most days :)
Aiden is doing beautifully in 2nd grade. We had parent teacher conferences and it always strikes me how it seems as though we never have anything to talk about with the teacher because he is doing so well and so aside from hearing what we already know, it makes for a quick conference...until Scott starts talking shop with the teacher! LOL I am so thankful that Aiden does so well and that we don't have to be concerned about things with which so many other parents and students struggle.
Brady loves his preschool class and is doing well also. He comes home singing the cutest songs and then adapting them to suit his need or the holiday. He had a cute song about monkeys and an alligator that he changed to bats and a witch during halloween! He cracks me up. 3 year olds come up with the funniest things to say, and Brady is no different!
Mom wanted pictures with the kids and her for her Christmas cards so we headed out the other weekend (a beautiful one in November!) to the historical train depot in Orrville and Melanie got some great shots! Wanted to share some of my favs!

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving...I know our family has much to be thankful for and it is my prayer that you do too! I am thankful for each and everyone of you, dear friends and family members! Sending you much love and hugs this Thanksgiving!!!
